St Davids and Dolphins in New Quay, Wales

We came down to St David's in Wales at the weekend.
This was the view from our holiday cottage on the first evening.

This was the view on the first morning, we were only around 5 minutes walk from the beach.

On the first morning we had a chance to look around the rockpools.

On our first day in Wales we decided to take the 50 mile drive to New Quay because we had read that you could see dolphins from the pier.
We had only been sat on the pier for roughly 5 minutes when we spotted a fin in the water.
Over the next 2 hours we watched about 24 bottlenose dolphins jumping and playing about 300m away.

It was a bit like being at a firework display because everyone on the pier was saying 'ooh' and 'ahhh' everytime the dolphins leaped out of the water.

We left the pier for a while to get something to eat but couldn't resist coming back for another look. This time one of the dolphins came right next to the pier.
