Kingfisher

Finally managed to take some photos of a Kingfisher.

We first saw it when walking the dogs down stream from the lock. When we came back we sat down where we had seen it and waited.
The Kingfisher came passed 3 or 4 times before we managed to take a photo.

Thank you to Mark for telling us about Kingfisher's territories.

Kestrel

I filmed this kestrel from our car just up the road from my house.

The kestrel is only the British bird of prey that can truly hover.

Bunnies

On every walk we see a baby bunny, we believe it is the same one.
We think it is about 3 weeks old, it doesn't seem worried about having it's photo taken.

Drama in the morning

First thing this morning we found Scooby trying to eat a Greenfinch in our conservatory.

The rest of it's family was outside on next doors wall watching it.

A male Greenfinch kept flying up at the window on the otherside

I saw this bird out of the window this morning, does anyone know what it is?
It was signing very loudly at the group of Greenfinches

After school

After school my friend and I went in to the woods with my mum and dad and dogs.
We climbed trees and jumped the stream. We didn't see any wildlife because we made too much noise.

My uncle sent me some photos of his back garden in America

This Greenfinch was collecting dog fur, in our garden, for a soft nest

Last night this is what I could see from my bedroom window. The rooks were getting ready to go to bed.

Down by the river

Ducks - these ducks are male mallards, there were 7 of them all together. Mallards eat seeds, plants, insects and shellfish.

The field next to the river is full of buttercups.

Teasel - It is a herbaceous biennial plant that grows up to 2.5 meters tall.
