I visited Otmoor for a second time over the weekend.
On the path leading up to the hides a squirrel was nibbiling away at some hawthorn berries and a bird which looked like a sandpiper flew over head.
This time there were a lot more Starlings around the reed beds, as well as a lot more people watching.
About an hour before dusk they did a small murmuration before settling down for the night.
As we walked back to the car the sun was setting over the water.
